Looks like a great morning out!!!!
it's 30 out right now.. But, the sun is shining..... It's going to be a good day. Then I go down to the bike to load it ...... and this is what I find.....
Yeah.... that's all Ice..... We are going to have to be very careful..... and dress really warm!
Ok..... I'm ready to go..... huh..... will Lou end up being mad that he mailed his heated gear back home.... only time will tell.....
We head up route 191.... I'm sad.... I have to say goodbye to the Teton's, we drive along side of the Teton's and she is under the cover of clouds.... as if she is hiding her beauty from me.... Darn it.... A little bit down the road we see a bunch of Buffalo.... grazing..... I swear that one lifted his head and watched me ride by... As if to say "ride safe Sister Mooo.... Mike and Sweetlu....."
Instead of heading up to Yellowstone we head towards Dubois.... He head down the road and it's cold... then head on 26.... and we head right into some construction, but it wasn't too bad, and we got to be first in line because we were bikers,
we followed a pace truck though the construction.... we go though and there is snow on the sides of the road.... Once we are though the construction we pick up speed and we notice that the snow on the sides of the roads is getting deeper and deeper.... at the highest I would say it was 10 to 12 feet high.. it was soooooo cold.... Mike and I notice that there is snow on all the trees... like there was a light snowfall and it settled on the trees... Man, it must have snowed there last night.... the roads are fine.... Thank G-d! Lou and I have heated grips..... Mike doesn't.... I'm glad I'm dressed for it... Little did I know we were going though Togwotee Pass .. It was Darn cold going though the pass..... at it's highest point it's just shy in elevation 10,000 feet.
This is in Dubois at the place that we had lunch.....
only about 30 miles away from the pass in lower elevation.... and we come to this.....
The landscape changes so fast here in Wyoming.... from snow to desert to lush fields....
It eventually starts getting warmer out.... the skies are blue.... with puffy clouds....
We see Lakes as blue green as the Caribbean waters.... we see rocks bolting out of the ground in the midst of lush fields.... It's just amazing to encounter all these different landscapes in a 10 hour period of time..... I am being Awed here in Wyoming....
Tomorrow Devils tower and South Dakota..... :-)
